Charles "Charlie" Keith

Charles Keith (Charlie), 78, of Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Canton, MA passed away on July 19th peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous battle with cancer. 

Charlie is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 53 years, Paula (Hickey) Keith; his daughter, Cheryl Keith of Fort Myers; his son, Charles (Chad) Keith Jr. and his wife Katie Keith of Sandwich; and his cherished granddaughter, Emma Kate Keith. Also, his brother, Tom Keith and his wife Barbara of Dedham, his sister-in-law, Carol Hickey of Cotuit; as well as many treasured nieces, nephews, close family, and friends. Charlie was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Catherine; his sister, Kathy Phillipo and his brother-in-law, COL Edward Hickey Jr. Charlie was born in Boston, and grew up in Rosendale, graduating from Roslindale High School in ‘60 and entered the National Guard in ‘63 and served 6 years. 

Charlie found gratification in his work as a Pipe Fitter for many years and was part of the Pipe Fitters Union for 50 years.  Charlie lived and raised his children in Canton, then moved to Florida 16 years ago.  He treasured trips to Saratoga, Falmouth, Colorado and time with friends and family.  He enjoyed his New England sports teams, golfing, and snowmobiling. More recently, he loved going to Red Sox Spring Training games, Disney trips and his time on Tidewater Island. 

Charlie had a deep love for his family, especially his partner for life, Paula.  He loved his “Papa” time with his granddaughter, Emma Kate.  Charlie always valued every minute and memory he had with each and every friend and family member.

A funeral mass will be held on August 28th at St. John’s Evangelist Church in Canton at 10 AM. Interment St. Joseph's Cemetery West Roxbury.  On September 19th, there will be a celebration of life in the Fort Myers area. More details to follow.
